Just switch ON clock in SECondary K2 menu
----- Message initial ---- De : Chuck Guenther <[hidden email]> À : [hidden email] Envoyé le : mercredi 13 décembre 2006, 08 h 22 min 38 s Objet : [Elecraft] KDSP2 questions 2.) Referring to the KDSP2 Manual, page 38, troubleshooting: The middle of the page gives the following symptom (which I experience frequently): "AFIL works but I can't access DSP or clock menus when I press Display" The manual goes on to suggest turning the K2 off then back on. This works for me, but is there a better fix for this? The manual also says to "let us know" if this happens frequently. I have e-mailed Elecraft support regarding this. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? En finir avec le spam? Yahoo! I assume you mean the rtc (real-time clock). It is on (or at least starts
out that way, with power on). However, after some time of operation, I get "not inst." The DSP filters work fine-- I just can't call them up in the menu to edit them or make changes without doing the power on/off. So far have not heard from Elecraft support on this. 73, Chuck NI0C ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean-François Ménard" <[hidden email]> To: "Chuck Guenther" <[hidden email]>; <[hidden email]> Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 8:16 AM Subject: Re : [Elecraft] KDSP2 questions Just switch ON clock in SECondary K2 menu ----- Message initial ---- De : Chuck Guenther <[hidden email]> À : [hidden email] Envoyé le : mercredi 13 décembre 2006, 08 h 22 min 38 s Objet : [Elecraft] KDSP2 questions 2.) Chuck,
If you get the "not inst" message it means that the KDSP2 is not being recognized. The fact that it is intermittent indicates that there is a bad solder connection somewhere. You might try re-flowing the solder on the KDSP2 board. 73, Don W3FPR > -----Original Message----- > > I assume you mean the rtc (real-time clock). Is there a KAT-100 attached? 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Don and Lyle, It's working! I removed the KDSP2 module and heated up a couple of dozen solder connections, especially at the connoectors. While I was at it I built the KNB2 module and installed it. I used the audio filter un-module from Rework Eliminators to replace the KDSP2 module while I checked out the KNB2. Then I reinstalled the KDSP2 and now have solid communications with it. Thanks to both of you for your assistance. 73, Chuck NI0C ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Wilhelm" <[hidden email]> To: "Chuck Guenther" <[hidden email]> Cc: <[hidden email]> Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 9:11 PM Subject: RE: [Elecraft] KDSP2 questions > Chuck, > > If you get the "not inst" message it means that the KDSP2 is not being > recognized. > The fact that it is intermittent indicates that there is a bad solder > connection somewhere. > You might try re-flowing the solder on the KDSP2 board. > > 73, > Don W3FPR > _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
