Unfortunately, most beach settings quite literaly do not support use of
my favorite portable antenna for my K1...a resonant multi-band dipole.
If you ever intend to operate in dipole-friendly territory, I have a
recently revised three-page pdf file with description and measurements
and a couple of photos of a simple design that I've used for many years,
after trying about every other type of antenna for portable HF operation.
I'm always happy to send the 250k file to any interested party.
Saltwater beaches (in South Carolina, in my case) are the only place I've
ever had satisfactory (to me) performance from a portable vertical HF
antenna, in more than 40 years of trying.
