With all due respect, you already received the answer here. Yes, you can
connect the Signal Link to the front panel mic connector. Just pad the audio
output of the SL to a mic level, instead of line level. Also, you won't be
able to get audio output from the K3 back to the SignalLink via that jack.
The RX audio of the K3 is not available there (see the manual). So you would
need another cable from line out on the back for that anyway.

So... it would be easist to just patch it in via the back (via your rack of
signal shaping/mixing gear), as has been suggested.

I just had a thought: what about the rear mic jack (the 3.5mm) and the line out?
Can that be done?

Yes, with the same caveat: you must attenuate the output of the SL to mic
levels, and you would switch the mic input to rear panel when you want to
use it.

Phil Wheeler-2
Easy enough to do: The SL_USB has pots with front
panel knobs for such things -- and there are even
jumpers so you can make grosser changes.

Re: Making a Signalink cable for the K3's 8-pin mic

Don Wilhelm-4
In reply to this post by W2RMS
Slava,

Yes, that would most likely work - BUT -

I would suggest that you move the input from your audio gear from Line
In to Mic In and use the Line In for the Signalink.  Surely you have an
output level adjustment for your audio gear that will allow mic level
output - if not, add an attenuator.

That would allow you to select Line In as the MIC SEL fo data modes.
and  either FP or RP mic for SSB which is the more normal setup for audio.
