But Mouser _does_ have the plug, from which you can build your own adapter,
or attach it to an existing microphone. see p/n 171-6435-EX 73, Bruce, N1RX > Im sure we'll get some more info as it becomes available. Its nice to get > a stock of raw materials. In the course of checking the physical sizes of the "K Line", I see that
the W2 is the same height as the KAT500 and the same width (or close) as the P3, which leads to the following question. Is the W2 useful with the KPA500/KAT500 combination or would it be redundant? 73, doug who really needs to reorganize the shack. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

If you're going to run the KPA500 all the time, it may be redundant, but if you sometimes run barefoot, the meter in the KPA500 may not be very useful, as it has a fixed range. I suppose it may be technically feasible for it to have a second range for barefoot operation (i.e. when it's in standby mode), where the green LEDs could represent 0-100W, orange 100-120W, and red above that... but that'd take (at least) some KPA500 firmware development. ~iain / N6ML ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Even if you are running barefoot (amp in standby) the LCD window on the KPA500 is functional and will give you a numeric power out or SWR if you choose. No need for the LED's.
I'll be looking to sell my Autek WM-1 SWR meter at Dayton this year as I feel it is redundant now. 73, Joe W8JH, K3 1713, KPA-500 132
