Re: More Pedestrian KX1's Needed

Hi Wayne.
i am going to be up on Pikes Peak for field day, hiking the trail....
It should be great... i will have my KX1 along too...
i have my whip attached to a thin board, (a free paint stirrer from H. Depot).
The thin board goes in my rear pocket and i usually wear a vest and the
antenna
goes out the arm hole... That keeps it standing pretty straight.
When it is to warm for the vest,  i just use a belt around my neck/under my
arm, like a shoulder holster, to hold the middle part of the whip.
The KX1 has a 2 foot single wire (no coax) going to the whip.
13 foot drag wire on 20M.
More fun with the KX1

The pedestrian mobile drag wire actually stays directly behind you and never
gets in the way.
When i am trying to work DX, i will stop and sling the drag wire around and
point it
at the DX station to decrease my antenna loss.
The single drag wire counterpoise is directive.
