What are you planning on using the Signalink for? I don't know that it would do anything more than the already existing one that is included in the K3. If you do want to use the Signalink however, you will need the 8 pin Kenwood cable and then just setup the header inside the Signalink accordingly.

The main advantage to using the SignaLink is the addition of the second
sound card, to free up your pc sound card for ... pc kinda stuff.  I
prefer this setup, personally.
