Re: REV button behavior and CommCat

Jeffrey Wolf
For anyone who may be interested, Howard (W6HN) at CommCat has identified
that CommCat is seeing the K3 as going offline when the REV button is pushed
and held. This offline recognition also occurs intermittently and with no
apparent input to the radio's controls. When the error occurs, CommCat
reinitializes its connection with the radio, resetting to a baseline with
split turned off, accounting for the behavior. So far, we haven't found the
reason for this, but the investigation is continuing. The problem does NOT
appear to be with the K3, since I've checked the radio with a different
logging program and found no problem. If anyone else on the reflector is
using CommCat and seeing this behavior, please contact me. More brains may
lead to a faster resolution of the issue. When the solution is found, I'll
report back.
Jeff, K6JW
