Hi Shane,
For what it's worth.. I used the cheapest method for my K3 shipping. Delivery was 6-7 days to my local post office, and there was no GST or import duties to pay. I've used the same method many times when buying from Elecraft without any issues. It cost $350 (USD) to ship 2 x K3 and bits to the UK (#1122 and #1123). The large box arrived very quickly, which wasn't important, and safely which was. UK VAT of 17.5% was added to the total of the invoice, including the shipping cost. I'd have been happy for the gear to come by sea mail (about 8 weeks from California) but it was all down to methods Elecraft use and the insured value of the package ($5400 USD hardware plus $350 USD carriage).
Mr UPS was (understandably) RAZOR keen to get a cheque for the duty and handling charge ($518 USD). (and I wonder why only immigrants still want to live in the UK HI! ) The latest errata has been printed, so next job on is an inventory - sometime soon. 73 All DaveL G3TJP _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. How about 19% tax plus another 3,5% for handling :-(
On the other hand, we get a lot of Dollar for our Euro ;-) 2008/6/26, David Lankshear <[hidden email]>: > It cost $350 (USD) to ship 2 x K3 and bits to the UK (#1122 and #1123).
