Eric,
I only get the digest form of the list. And there are usually several copies of this d**n message in the digest !!. This mornings digest has them at the beginning of the digest. So they are not coming directly to me from a subscriber but rather through the list, It should be possible to filter it (them) out :^? Thought you'd like to know... Yes I tried blocking out the Elecraft list with my spam filter and never
received them, so that tells me the spam is coming from the elecraft list. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave G." <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Sunday, September 12, 2004 10:52 AM Subject: [Elecraft] Re: Spam messages > Eric, > > I only get the digest form of the list. That is a bit draconian, since you will not get ANY list messages that
way. A filter on the sender's name ([hidden email]) would work better. Maybe when Eric gets back, he can sort it out. Well before you guys flame me anymore. I was told they were not coming
through the list address notwithstanding. So to KIS I blocked the reflector temporarily to see what was up with that. Good luck on simply blocking the spammer as the dozen or so I have received here all have a different number or letter in the from address. Nuff of that how about those MSU Spartans hey! I was out of town last week and it has taken me a bit of time to catch
up here :-) I stand corrected. The spammer had subscribed to the list under four different addresses. I have no idea how they got their attachment to pass through qth.net. I'll copy qth on this email. I have removed the spammer from the subscriber roll and am currently moderating all postings for the next 24 hours. I will also moderate all new subscriptions to try to prevent this happening again. Sorry for the problems! 73, Eric WA6HHQ Elecraft list moderator ------ kce wrote: > Well before you guys flame me anymore. Mailman has the option of restricting the size of the past to the list...as does majordomo....I set that value very low on the lists I manage and it seems to help with the problem.
