And I still find it faintly obscure that IC pins are spaced at a tenth of an inch....where does that come from?
Older hams this side will recall school exercise books which had all the imperial measurements printed on the back. Horse racing still deals with furlongs (the length of a furrow...) and cricket pitches are a chain (22yds) "ten chains = one furlong". Ah, Happy Days! Hello! Yes it has, because is almost impossible to find replacment hardware (screw) for Elecraft radio in central Europe (But it can be ordered from Elecraft of course!!!) :))) JA's use metric stuff and is much easier. And homebrewing 13cm band Yagi (or GHz monopoles ecc) is very difficult if inch and foot are used :( .
