It is a good thing none of you are waiting for a new Bike.
It will be 2023 before the bike industry recovers. Or build a house. Here in Canada (where we have lots of wood) lumber prices are up over 180%. 2x4" x 8ft aren't cheap. I agree with Dave, although unlike him, I have ordered a K4, on the "no deposit"
plan, so I'm not out any money. Of course, no one is actually out of money, other than the opportunity cost, if they chose to bail out. I sympathize with Elecraft's plight, but issues have plagued everyone and one would think that a company that manufactures communication equipment would communicate with their customer base. Of course, they aren't expected to advertise every problem in their business activity, but frequent tidbits would keep the faithful happy. Frankly, I got tired of waiting and wondering, and wanting at least one new radio before I croak, bought a TS-890. Shortly after I did a fire in one of Kenwood's semiconductor suppliers plant stalled their deliveries. But they announced this, found a workaround and began deliveries again, albeit at a $500 price increase. Will I still buy a K4? I dunno but I'm still an Elecraft fan with a K3, K3S, Kpod, KPA500 and KAT500, the latter two work well with the Kenwood. Wes N7WS On 3/30/2021 4:37 PM, David Gilbert wrote: > > > Uhh .. Lead time for furniture we ordered around that time was 4-6 months. Two chairs we ordered two weeks are quoted for November. My XYL ordered a loom two months ago that she doesn't expect to see before July. I don't know where the fridge was mfd, but all the other stuff was/is made by small companies in the Sierra Nevada, the midwest and the eastern US. 73, Jim K9YC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
I'm just happy we got past the TP shortage. Best Buy has been totally out of laser printers for months.

We ordered a refrigerator last March, and it wasn't delivered till October,
so there are a lot of delays across all manufacturing. On Wed, Mar 31, 2021 at 1:18 PM Walter Underwood <[hidden email]> wrote: > Just not true.
