Due to a recent email contact from Jack Stone,
(quoted in full below so there can be no confusion about it), I have been informed I must retract comments I recently made in reference to Antennex. So in accordance with the following demands: <quote> > We would like to have the name of your attorney and phone # so he/she may be > contacted to review your public comments in terms of potential damages that > could be sought. You may want to seriously consider retracting the false > rumors you have spread on the QTH forum and perhaps elsewhere to be > determined. </quote> Here is my reply and *retraction* of what Jack has said was offensive to him. I expressed an opinion sir, in my part of America that is still allowed! Perhaps from where you stand with your, "financial guy turned publisher's", wealth it is not. Where I had said that you had: "commercialized *_all_* Cebik's content" and "what was once freely given, now must be paid for" was mis stated on my part. It is fact that one *must* pay for *SOME* content on your site. As to whither or not those parts are/were part of what was once free, I have only your word, and my unconfirmed opinion, as previously expressed by many others. AS you stated on your site: <quote> "This “story” is also designed to educate some about the evolution of the www.cebik.com web site which has lead to some controversy among the few." "It is especially targeted, once and for all, toward those who remained willfully ignorant of the relationship of this publishing company, antenneX and that web site—that it isn’t a simple matter that LB passed away and that antenneX sprung up from nowhere, took possession of the site and abruptly “commercialized” it. Instead, antenneX (founded 21 years ago) support activities have always been there more than a decade, but largely behind the scenes as far as its commercial connections. The evidence was always apparent, but some just didn't connect the dots. Such were part of the private business compensation affairs between LB and us, but there was very-much a commercial side to the activities of LB contrary to any who thought otherwise. With that said, without question, LB was always willing to help someone in need if he could. He would never ask anything in return for such personal assistance as hundreds may testify." </quote> http://www.antennex.com/Stones/st0509/lb_and_me.htm Since only you know about the *private* facts of this matter, they can not be argued. I remain that, the *spirit* of Cebik's 'freely' given help, seemed to me to be lacking by the commercial aspects of the site. Where Cebik's content end and your "copyrighted content" begins, blurs in my readings of the site. <quote> "LB was always willing to help someone in need if he could. He would *never* *ask* *anything* *in* *return* for such personal assistance as hundreds may testify." </quote> So I bow to your money and power and restate that my comments were not based on any facts, but rather simply on my opinion. P.S. As I fear your power and your money, all further correspondence from you to me, will be posted in full online for my protection.
