The first problem I can think of regarding Ethernet use in this
case is all the birdies! I've got strong birdies at home around 14.030
from various 100Bt devices in my and my neighbor's house...

I am told that if you turn the speed down to 10Bt, most of that will go away.
Depending on the application, you may not notice the speed difference.
