We have added a new page to our builder's resource page with recommended
lead content solders and where to buy them from a number of U.S. vendors. Don't forget that we also have links for 'Ask Dr. solder', 'Recommended Solder Stations' and a 'Soldering Tutorial' on the Builder's page. See: http://www.elecraft.com/Apps/K2info.html I've copied the solder info below. Thanks to Tom Hammond, N0SS, for compiling this list for us! 73, Eric and Wayne --------------------- The following vendors will carry the following lead-content solders as long as they are available for sale and use in the United States. (Which appears to be for the foreseeable future.) These solders are widely available and can be ordered via each distributor's web page or over the phone. Note: All vendors shown below offer flux-cored solder wires with other flux chemistries and content. The products shown below have been tested and found suitable for assembly of Elecraft kits. Other flux types and chemistries may (or may not) be suitable, but have not been tested. DigiKey www.digikey.com (800) 344-4539 KESTER .015" Dia. Any chance you could provide a similar page with recommended LEAD-FREE solders, for those of us who feel they ought to / must / should / want to go RoHS-compliant? -- "Nosey" Nick Waterman, Senior Sysadmin. #include <stddisclaimer> [hidden email] Wasting time is an important part of life. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
