Remote KPA500 Via Moxa - On/Off Switch via S/W not stable

4Z4OQ
Hi
My Set up is TS-480 via remote rig and controlling KPA500 & KAT500 via Moxa rs232 Server port 1 38400bit/s. My issue is as follows:-

1. I can connect to the Amplifier via KPA500 utility, can change bands, can switch from stby to oper but sometimes times cant change the power switch to off mode.
2. In amplifier is on stby (ON) mode and by mistake close the utility SW, when I reopen the software the o/off status is off, but I know the amplifier is On

Any ideas..?

I've just done a little tweaking to the KPA Utility's timing.  After the
power off command is issued it takes a little while before the KPA500 is
responsive to any other serial commands.  The KPA Utility doesn't wait quite
long enough.

I'll try to get this early Beta version on to an FTP site for you to test.

Hi Viz:  Just a thought

When you reopen the KPAUtil software in step 2, go to the "Port" tab and
Test Communications.  When it has set itself up (usually at 38400) and says
things are ok, then go to the "Operate" tab.  It should now portray the
actual operating conditions - I have to do this on occasion when things get
out of sync.

Hope this helps.

Dick,

Any word on a change to allow the TS-590 band information to be properly read by
the KPA when using memories?  As previously reported, it works fine in VFO mode,
but does not when operating in memory mode.
