I decided to purchase from one of our reflector colleagues the Remoterig. I do have a mix of excitement with the thought that even after all these months I gave up too easy.
In the end, I wanted something that a caveman could use. I hope that this caveman can get it rolling in next weekend or so after it arrives. Keith,
this here caveman got it rolling in a day, for the basic set up, and about half a day more to get the rotor and such working remotely. It took a few questions on this and the RemoteRig reflectors, but then I admit to caveman status... YMMV. Good luck & let us know how it goes for you. 73 de Dave, W5SV On 3/13/12 1:21 PM, Keith Heimbold wrote: > I decided to purchase from one of our reflector colleagues the Remoterig. Additional thoughts:
I do not have digital modes (aside from CW) operational yet; it should be possible, but it is low priority for me right now. the forum is here: http://www.remoterig.com/forum/index.php, and there is the yahoo group (not a lot of activity; most seems to be on the forum) as well. ([hidden email]). I should have mentioned that I strongly recommend setting it up on your internal intranet first so that it is convenient to debug, then setting up the IP forwarding for your router at the radio location, etc. and using the internet for the remote. It helps to separate the issues nicely, making debug go faster. 73 de Dave, W5SV On 3/13/12 1:51 PM, David F.
