Remotely Turn On a KX3

ny4g
Is there a way to remotely turn on a KX3 through software  without physically pushing the Band- and ATU Tune buttons?  Any help here is appreciated.

Emory
Thanks for the response.  I surmised that no one has figured out how to do this from the relative silence in response to my post.  I was interested in it from the standpoint of remote control operation.  It is not covered in Fred Cady's book nor in the manual.  I will let you know if I find something that works

Re: Remotely Turn On a KX3

Matt Zilmer
There is a way to power on the KX3 remotely.  It involves holding one
of the ACC1 or ACC2 pins at a logic state for 100 mS or more.  Now ...
to find my notes on this.

The app note mentioned refers to the K3, not the KX3.

Re: Remotely Turn On a KX3

Gary Surrency states that the logic state needs to be applied to the PTT line and not either of the ACC lines.  The relay circuit I think will still work as long as it is applied to the right line.
At this time, you can only do this:

If you read the handbook it states you have to apply power to acc2 to
power on the unit remotely.

In reply to this post by ny4g
Gary is correct; the KX3 can be turned on remotely with application of 8-12 V on the mic jack's PTT line. Very little current is needed.
