Dave, AB9CA suggested I use a light touch to try to
pinpoint my defect. I also realised the fault had appeared
the same day I had taken the covers off the K2 to
repair a defective headphone jack.
Then I discovered my error - I had re-soldered all the
points in the area but not the components that were on
the *bottom* of the board. A quick look at the schematic
offered a likely suspect - C161! I touched it very lightly
and that was it - a poor solder joint on C161.
Simply flowing the solder on the joint helped but I still
encountered the fault now and then after switching bands
so I resoldered the joint with fresh solder. So far, it's
working.
Note to self: When resoldering components, check both
sides of the board.
D'oh!
Thanks Dave!
