I could barely hear Phil but think I may have been checked in.
Conditions were very weak too. When they called for the Northwest the signal from SoCal was strong but he could not hear me at all. The only response I got was from a 4 land op. I only got a partial return though when QRN rose. Kevin. Jim,
I'm curious. Are you saying that you were harrassed trying to check in? I didn't hear any of that. Conditions were tough today, and many who typically can work me couldn't today. We used multiple relays to try to get everyone that we could, and we got 39 participants. Thanks to N6JW, W4RKS and others who helped out. I felt that we did well considering the propagation. There were a few calls that we heard but couldn't confirm. What is your call, Jim? 73, Phil, NS7P On Mar 17, 2013, at 2:03 PM, "Jim Miller" <[hidden email]> wrote: > LOTS of harassment - no sensible answers - I don't need you. I can't hear > net anyway. I'm a bit surprised that so many were unaware of the solar
flare! Good of Bill Frantz to post info on this. All HF bands were completely dead in AK yesterday. WWV on 15-MHz totally missing! Of course we had visible aurora, locally. It was a eme contest weekend for 144 & 432, but I chose to skip it as my experience is that 2m-eme signals just disappear in the excited ionosphere (which acts as a big attenuator in these circumstances). I just checked 20m at 1800utc and the band seems to improved though maybe still impacted (maybe only due to it being a work day?). We have been having clear-sunny days starting out at zero-F but climbing to 28-30 mid-day so fine wx for working outside on my dish with only a light jacket. Don't HFers watch solar conditions? :-) 73, Ed - KL7UW ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
