Scan Rate Adjustment

n6wg
Is there any adjustment somewhere to slow down the scan rate?
Mine goes too fast, and by the time I hear a station the K3 has
shot past it, and it's hard to get back to the station's frequency.

Any info?

Thanks and 73

Heh, that's funny, I just requested the same thing...

However, you can get several scan rates by using FINE, COARSE or RATE.
These give you aprox 150 Hz/sec, 1.5 KHz/sec and several kHz/sec, if I
recall.

I wouldn't mind having an intermediate rate between the two slowest
ones. One seems too slow and the other too fast. I don't use the
fastest one at all.

I also would like to have a fixed selectable dwell time on the muted
scan. Sometimes it pauses for a couple of seconds, sometimes for a lot
longer. I would just like to have it pause for, say, 5 seconds every
time it stops.

I use  scanning on the CW bands, usually in unmuted mode with a very
wide filter. It's nice to be able to scan the bands while you're busy
with other stuff in the shack. A tap of the key stops the scan.
