Second antenna port...

John Ragle
Har, har...more jokes, I see. There is a marvelous solution to the lack
of a second antenna port. It is the so-called "Armstrong" method of
changing cables: you unscrew one PL259 and screw another in. If you'd
rather have a "device," then there are excellent, grounding, shielded,
coax switches to be had on eBay for $20.

The Elecraft ATU are excellent automatic tuners with a remarkable
capacity to match source to load. No one is forcing the purchase of
~$300 ATUs. for any other purpose than that. ...and if you examine some
of the high-end external tuners, many have a "featured" antenna switch,
complete with additional coax connectors on the rear.

For a "real" feature, how about a Peltier cooler and reservoir for beer?
The "hot" end could be attached to the PA heat sink (but then the PA
becomes a ~$500 "feature" for cooling beer).

John,
Excellent idea on the beer cooler!
I would like to see a jack on the back which would provide
varying audio siren sounds that could be triggered from DX
cluster spots.  Low warble for one that has been worked but not
confirmed, medium siren for one that is needed on a particular band,
and a loud whooping siren for an all time new one.  <grin> :-)
I couldn't resist, now going to 40 meters to work the South Orkney DXpedition,
my K3 APF weaponry is ready for battle !

Gary Gregory
Hmmm....Along with a price drop in current beer prices this would be a
great innovation?...:-)

Hic

And a 'Beer Holder' added to the accessories list would sell also.

Thank goodness (and Elecraft) most of the DXpeditions these days are packing K3s.  That means I stand a chance that they'll hear little pistols like me!
