Securing a battery in EC1???

Guy Hamblen
I'm looking at using an EC1 for the new Power-Sonic PS-1251FP 5.4 amp hr battery with plenty of room for a KD5NDB controller.  My question:

What have others used to physically secure a battery in an EC1?  I could use velcro strips but am interested if there are other alternatives?

Thanks in advance, Guy N7UN/2

Re: Securing a battery in EC1???

Guy,
I have used a small strip of 2 1/2 " sheet aluminum.  Bending the aluminum at right angles to fit the battery, then leaving 2" tabs over the edge of the battery with velcro on the tabs and velcro on the case.  The velcro locks the aluminum strap to the case holding the battery firmly in place.  I may have a digital photo of the arrangement.
