This is rather dumb question; Since I built my K3 over two years ago, my eyesight, which was failing at that time, has now reached the legally blind state. I have developed a simple problem - panel lights go out after power is applied for about two seconds, but rig continues to work FB. If I could see inside the rig, I am sure I could isolate and repair what sounds like as relay closure causing the lights to go out, in about ten minutes flat---but with my vision this is now impossible.
Is there any one out there who does "minor" repairs such as the above??? I keep reading about the turn-around time at Aptos, and do not wish to compound the problem with my "silly " repair job. Also a round trip to CA seems as little over the top. My QTH is Palm Beach Florida. Any leads would be appreciated. Tap MENU, rotate VFO B to "LCD BRT", if it says "DAY" then rotate VFO B
to desired backlight.
