I can find several posts on remote control of the K3 via the internet but it is not clear to me the hardware/software needed. What would be the easiest way to set up a basic remote system using the internet with a computer at both ends?

You can read about how I have run my Perseus as a remote receiver using
Ham Radio Deluxe at: http://www.astromag.co.uk/resources/G4AON_Perseus_remote_access_v2.pdf An Elecraft K3 is just as easy to remotely operate, however beware the menu can be accessed by remote... In order to hear the radio you can use Skype for simplicity (lots of folk use Skype and are familiar with it), you would need to set an oddly named user account rather than your normal Skype name and set it to auto answer and only to names in it's address book. IP Sound also works well (http://ip-sound.software.informer.com/) but is not well supported. Both are free. My Perseus is not currently available on line... 73 Dave, G4AON ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
