Slightly OT: Open-source CAT software available on sourceforge.net

Frank R. Oppedijk-3
Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know that I've just uploaded my CatPad
software package to the Sourceforge open-source community.

CatPad is a software program that provides soft buttons which, if
pressed, send CAT commands to your radio. This way you can send
macros to your transceiver with a single button press (you may know
this from the K3 Utility, or from K-Keys). CatPad also supports
X-Keys hardware keyboards (currently only the 58-key keyboard shown
at http://www.ymouse.com/xkeys/xkpro.php ).

CatPad is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/catpad/ . It
needs a Java run-time environment (1.4 or higher) and as such should
be platform-independent. For use with an X-Keys hardware keyboard,
one needs a proprietary DLL, limiting the use with a hardware
keyboard to Windows-only.

I'm currently happily using the program with my K3, but I'm not doing
any active development on the program at the moment. Anyone who wants
to take the current source code and develop it further, is free to do so.

73,

Frank PA4N
