Wayne, Eric, & the Tech guys.
Pretty far fetched maybe, but what would be cool is a small p3 with a small screen, about the size of an iPhone 4, maybe possibly a bit bigger, shallow depth to compliment the KX3 QRP transceiver, A truly portable unit!! Could you shrink it down!!! You could use your iPhone with iSDR or similar app.
Take either I or Q output from KX3, and connect it to the iPhone microphone jack. Done it, it works. you only get 24KHz range, because the iPhone mic input is mono. Total cost under $10. (4pole jack, cable) Or you could connect both I and Q to the iPhone dock connector (stereo input) and get the full 48Khz Adi, M0THX On 11/08/2012 10:49, Ken wrote: > Wayne, Eric, & the Tech guys. > > Ken..G0ORH / M3i > > Sent from my iPhone 4s > > > > > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

iSdr works great as a panadapter with the KX3. I've been demoing it on an iPad with the KX3 at the hamfests we go to.

The Griffin iMic adapter also provides stereo input for the iPad and iPhone.

Saw this work at Ham-Com in Plano, TX and it's pretty nice on the iPad. The span width is nowhere near that of the P3, but considering the totally small package, especially with an iPhone as the display, I seriously doubt if there's a neater portable setup available anywhere, or with anywhere close to the operational support available!

To clarify, The iMic is a Stereo input to USB adapter. It plugs into the Apple camera adapter kit usb slot. The camera adapter gives the iPad or iPhone a USB slot. the camera adapter is quite cheap and available at Best Buy etc.

It is not via Bluetooth. The iMic connects directly to the iPad/iPhone via the small Apple camera USB adapter.

Doh! Video cameras have stereo mics. So it's part of iOS. I was
wondering how Griffin coded the audio into the video stream. They didn't have to, designers just did it native mode! I have to re-read these several reams of iOS stuff I have piled up here.... 73, matt On Sat, 11 Aug 2012 09:25:59 -0700, you wrote: >It is not via Bluetooth. No I haven't. Just the iPad.
Look at the iSDR website for better info on this. Hello All,
Before running out and buying hardware, check the web site for the iSDR application. Look in the forums and check the discussion topics about connecting various devices for stereo input. Eric, many others, and I use the Griffin iMic with the Apple USB adapter on iPad 2 units. However, iPhone 4S will not work with that setup. Instead I use a Sonoma Wire Works GuitarJack device on the iPhone 4S. All the latest info and links can be found on the iSDR web site: http://digitalconfections.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=54 Thanks, JP 73 de WF4Z On Mon, Aug 13, 2012 at 6:13 PM, Bill K9YEQ <[hidden email]> wrote: > Let me also inquire, I am getting the Touch 4G which is same requirement as > the iPhone current model and need to know what dongle to get to interface. > > 73, > Bill > K9YEQ > KX3 Field Test #12 > > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] > [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Oliver Johns > Sent: Monday, August 13, 2012 4:38 PM > To: Elecraft Reflector > Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Small Screen for the QRP Gang > > Eric, > > >From the Apple web site and other places, it looks like the camera adapter > is not officially supported on the iPhone.
