I have been working in electronics for over 30 years and I find that though
rosin flux is somewhat inert under normal conditions it can lead to
corrosion in certain circumstances. On all my portions of the K2 system I
have built
I have removed the flux using alcohol or flux solvent. You have to be
careful about certain plastics that could be affected by various cleaner
solutions but most of today's components seem to resist any solvent damage
if the proper flux removing solvents are used.
Be careful as the solvents can be flammable and not the greatest thing to
breathe. Also be certain all the cleaner has been removed from the circuit
board before applying power.
I hope this information is of some help.
