Some Good News and Some Bad News

w7aqk
I'm in Ventura, CA tending a sick brother in the hospital.  Looks like I'll
miss Thanksgiving at home.  But I talked to the XYL yesterday, and a package
arrived at home.  Guess what!  My K3 arrived!  What's strange is that I did
get a preliminary message about my invoice, but no message saying it had
been shipped.  But I've been having horrible problems at this motel with my
email.  I could receive, but not send emails.  I won't even describe how I'm
sending this--I don't understand exactly why it seems to work, but it
apparently does.

Anyway, I have no idea what my serial number is, as my XYL couldn't find
anything that seemed to resemble it in the box.  We were both afraid to have
her dig through it very much and maybe lose a part or something.

Another "good" thing--she saw the enclosed invoice and assumed I only spent
around $1400 for the radio!  That was the balance due!  I'm not sure I will
tell her the real number!

Oh, and one more good thing--yesterday just happened to be my birthday!  Now
how did Elecraft know to have that K3 hit my front porch on that day???
Wayne and Eric are very clever, but I didn't realize they were that clever!

RE: Some Good News and Some Bad News

FWIW my serial number was written in pencil in the upper right corner of my
invoice that came with the K3. That might be the easiest to find.

I think the serial number envelope was in the "miscellaneous parts" bag. It
was near the bottom of the bigger box of subassemblies, not the small box of
chassis parts.
