Take a look at the GOES magnetometer [lower left corner], the electron
flux [upper right corner] and the predicted Kp [which is 6 right now].
You can click on the graphs to get a bigger ones. The magnetometer
normally oscillates between about +75 and +100 nT. I've never seen the
ordinate go into negative values before.
Spaceweather mentioned that the CME compressed the magnetosphere to
inside the geostationary orbit altitude, so perhaps that's what the big
negative pulse is from.
