Speaker connection

rlindzen
I have a pair of KLH speakers connected to the rear speaker jack on
my K3 (#911).  They were working fine, but I just noticed that the
left speaker (connected to the middle section of the plug) ceased
functioning.  I tested the speakers and they are working, and I
checked the connections to the plug which also checked out okay.  The
built in speaker on the K3 works fine as do headphones.  Has anyone
run into this problem?  I'll try a different plug, but somehow I
suspect that the K3 is no longer providing output to the left speaker.

If by "middle section of the plug", you mean the ring (between tip and
shield), that's the right channel. Do you have the sub-RX? Maybe you
turned it on, but have its AF gain all the way down?

Although I suppose you should observe the same with headphones ..
assuming they're stereo...

Re: Speaker connection

The headphones are stereo, and I don't have a subreceiver.  Is there
a setting that changed with a firmware update?

Hi Dick,

Did you check that Config: Spkrs is set to 2?  This happened to me, and I
didn't remember changing it to 1 from the 2 it had been set to.  Like you, I
checked all the connections first before I checked Config _hi!

Re: Speaker connection

Yup, that was the problem.  I feel a bit stupid, but its hard to keep
track of all the configurable possibilities.
