Stiffening VFO B knob

rlindzen
I'm personally okay with the front panel design, but I wish the VFO B
knob had a bit more friction.  Is there any recommended way of adding
this?  Should I just try to cut a felt pad and place it between the
knob and the panel?

Dick,

There should already be a felt washer under the VFO B knob (at least,
there is on mine.) To increase the friction, just use an allen wrench
to loosen the two set screws and position the knob a little closer to
the front panel.

Re: Stiffening VFO B knob

Thanks to Joe and all the others who answered off line.  I had put a
felt washer on when I assembled the K3 (#911), but there was a second
felt washer that was left over.  With two felt washers, it is easy to
get exactly the tension you want.  Somehow I must have missed this in
the instructions.  Also, by now, I've pretty much forgotten the
details of assembling the K3.
