I was doing a firmware update and something happened to interrupt it.
I have tried all the documented reset methods. And nothing works. changed USB cable and ports. Using the newest Util release. Nothing. Just cant communicate to the radio Any hints? Larry,
If you've really followed *all* of the steps described there, and are still stuck, you probably need to contact k3support.... 73, ~iain / N6ML On Fri, Jul 6, 2012 at 2:02 PM, K2GN <[hidden email]> wrote: > Been there done that. Larry,
Do you have a saved configuration file? If so, try an EE INIT (Parameter Initialization) - then load the new firmware and reload your configuration. If you do not have a saved configuration file, you will want to contact K3support before trying an EE Init, and you will have about an hour's work to load all the necessary options and do the calibration steps. 73, Don W3FPR On 7/6/2012 5:02 PM, K2GN wrote: > Been there done that. Make sure you don't have any "stuff" between the K3 Utility and the K3,
like microkeyer(?) or other usb management. Just a native RS232 port or a usb-serial adapter. Problem solved!
But, after trying everything written about Firmware updating, plus trying suggestions by Iain, N6Ml and Don, W3FPR, worked until this morning. My testing included disconnecting, things from the K3, changing USB/Com cables and various lengths of no power periods from seconds in length to 2 hours. I went to bed. This morning I tried doing the upgrade in the last configuration I had last night, It worked perfectly. So I moved to my other K3. Now I started this update in the configuration that I start all my upgrades, including the one that failed. IT RAN FLAWLESSLY FIRST TIME!!! Who can figure!! Thank you for the helpful messages from all, both on and off the reflector. Perhaps you shut down your PC last night, which is the same as a reboot?
