Hi Folks
I can't seem to get the Sub RX noise blanker to function. Working fine on the main RX. When swapping to the Sub the NB icon is not showing and cannot be toggled on. Ver 3.27 thanks Paul zl1ajy |
Holding BSET will allow you to set NB/NR on the subRX.

Hi Paul,
I just got stumped by this, too. In order to turn the sub RX NB on and off independently of the main RX, you have to set CONFIG:VFO IND=Yes. This allows the main and sub RX to be on different bands (so pay attention when changing bands!) If CONFIG:VFO IND=No, the sub RX NB is supposed to follow the setting of the main RX. At least that what I *think* the intent is. It's mentioned in the release notes for FW 3.03. However, that said, I don't think it's working right. When I have CONFIG:VFO IND=No and turn on the NB, it's quite clear from the sound that the sub RX NB is NOT turning on. When I have the main and sub RX set to share the main antenna and turn on the NB, I hear the noise disappear from the main RX side, but it's still there in the sub RX side. Can anyone else try this and confirm whether it's working as expected with CONFIG:VFO IND=No? 73 -- Joe KB8AP On Aug 29, 2009, at 5:34 PM, paulb wrote: > > Hi Folks > > I can't seem to get the Sub RX noise blanker to function. > Working fine on the main RX. > > When swapping to the Sub the NB icon is not showing and > cannot be toggled on. > > Ver 3.27 > > thanks > > Paul > zl1ajy > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

So you're saying that if I have the main RX and sub RX tuned to
different frequencies and want to turn on the NB on both, I have to hit A->B twice, thereby moving the sub RX to the same frequency as the main RX, and then retune the sub to the frequency it was at before? That would be ... awkward. And if I'm in diversity mode and want to turn on NB on both RX's, I have to hit NB then A->B??? That doesn't make any sense either. 73 -- Joe KB8AP On Aug 31, 2009, at 8:22 AM, Radio Amateur N5GE wrote: > On Sun, 30 Aug 2009 14:29:32 -0700, Joe Planisky <[hidden email]> > wrote: > > If you want both Receivers to have the same settings, just double tap > the A>B button. Joe,
I've witnessed the same NB phenomenon with my K3 #192. I have posted about this on this reflector but got very few answers. Hopefully someone will find out what's causing this behaviour. I would love to have a working NB in my subreceiver. 73 Glenn ON4WIX ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Planisky" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Cc: <[hidden email]> Sent: Monday, August 31, 2009 6:00 PM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Sub RX Noise Blanker - 3051 > So you're saying that if I have the main RX and sub RX tuned to > different frequencies and want to turn on the NB on both, I have to > hit A->B twice, thereby moving the sub RX to the same frequency as the > main RX, and then retune the sub to the frequency it was at before? > That would be ... awkward. > > And if I'm in diversity mode and want to turn on NB on both RX's, I > have to hit NB then A->B???
