Successfully using a micro fan to keep K2 cool

Roy Morris-6
I also was a field tester on frequency stability vs. temperature tests.  During one of these tests I set my K2 to 20 watts and keyed it for one continuous hour.  The heat sink was too hot to put my hand on it, but the over-heat message did not appear.  The K2 final transistors are very rugged and can stand up to very high temperatures.  My K2 is still going strong like the Eveready bunny.  Ron, AC7AC is right.  You don't need to be concerned about the heat generated during the everyday QSOs.  In a word the K2 is a brute when it comes to thermal properties.  Roy Morris  W4WFB
