T1 and 897D

Jerry Hancock-2
I ordered and built a T1 for my 817ND and it works, I think.

Anyone help with the following?

1)       when I press the power/tune, I get a red led light and then the
green.  Transmitting while green retunes and I get a low SWR on the
transmitter.  I didn't see anything in the guide that said I should get a
red led first?  What is the proper LED sequence when tuning or switching
bands?

2)       Anyone get it working with the 897D?  I get proper band switches
when using the 817nd but only occasional switches when using the 897D.  Is
there a configuration option for the CAT port on the 897D that needs to be
changed?  I tried CAT and TUNER with the same results.

3)       Is there a way to bypass the retune on the 817D when switching
bands?  When I change bands, I here the relays click on the T1 and then the
green light blinks for about 3 seconds.   If I transmit during the blink
then it retunes.  Granted, it is unlikely that I will change bands and
immediately transmit.

Thanks, it is great to have an elecraft product again.  I sold my K2 last
year and purchased an 897D that I just added to two 10lb batteries to but I
miss the K2.

Here is what I think: #3 is a feature. You would probably change bands
and listen first, then switch bands back and forth once to get it into
tune mode, then send QRL? or SSB ID and it retunes.  So there is no need
for a special tune button.
