Beset with antenna restrictions I am presently constructing a cosy little kennel to house my T1 at the base of a 20 foot flagpole and I would like to feed some DC on the coax to actuate a relay to remotely initiate the tuning process.
My question relates to the necessary isolating capacitors --- whilst I am currently qrp I would like to provide for 100W capability --- now, if my calculations are correct, to get below 1 ohm reactance at 1.8 MHz requires a capacitor around 0.1ufd and to support 100W operation in a matched condition (50 ohm line) a voltage rating around 70V and current 1.414A --- the question is:- Where do I find such a non-inductive capacitor or rather two of 'em?
Found a couple of old large micas (Cornell-Dubilier) in the junk box which I think last saw service in WW2, I am sure they would rate well but the highest capacity was only .005ufd.
TIA,
