TMP cable source

Mike Scott-7
I am intrigued by the board interconnect cables used in the K3 and P3. They
are mini inter-board coaxial cable interconnects and I am interested in
purchasing the components and crimp tool or pre-terminated cables for home
brew projects. I found that there is a distributor called Spectrum
Components. Now I am looking for a retail outlet or wonder if Elecraft would
could supply part numbers that they use in the K3.

K3 TMP cable source

Ken Kopp-3

TMP connectors are used is several two-way radio
product lines ... Motorola and King, at least ... probably
others.

I've made a number of "extension" TMP cables to make
access to the K3's 2nd receiver antenna input easier by
bringing a short extension cable to the area atop the
receiver and Ty-wrapping it to the knurled brass nut.
This allows me to configure the input of the 2nd receiver
in different ways.

I know of no cable-end female TMP connectors, but they
may well exist.  My source for females has been to
salvage them from "bad" Motorola boards and adapt
them for soldering onto the end of short male cables
from the same "bad" boards.
