I logged them last night on 10M SSB with a K3/KPA500/KAT500 combo into a N6BT vertical. I feel the pull of DXing - resistance is futile!

Don,
Congrats for TX5K on 10 ! Yes resistance will only make it worse, and there is no cure. hihi 73, Bob K6UJ On Mar 4, 2013, at 9:19 AM, Don Putnick wrote: > I logged them last night on 10M SSB with a K3/KPA500/KAT500 combo into a N6BT vertical. I don't have a lot of time lately for the hobby, but was able to work them from San Diego in about 30 minutes on four bands, phone, 40,20,17&12. Hope to get them on CW on 80&160.

After some careful listening to the CW pileup and jumping in several times when I thought it was the right time, my signal was finally copied on 17 meters and I got my callsign into the TX5K logbook! Needless to say, I was quite thrilled!
Now if the pileup only knew I was running 5 watts from a KX3 to a loop antenna to make the contact... The KX3 continues to impress. Thanks Eric / Wayne / et al at Elecraft for a heck of a portable radio! 72 Dave N5XL |

I have worked Clipperton many times over the years but this morning my K3
brought me TX5K joy! Using my stealth antenna at my apartment in Tampa, I used my paddle and made my first ever RTTY QSO and it was with TK5K. Yeah, that was fun! 73, Mike ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
