There are a variety of reports on doing this ranging from it being impossible to no changes are required. In my experience it runs perfectly and is a joy to use. There is only one difference between using Apple Silicon and any other Mac.
My setup is:
KX3
Base configuration M1 Macbook
Apple thunderbolt to USB cable
Standard Elecraft USB cable for the KX3
Sabrent Sound Card dongle
Anker self powered USB hub
WSJT-X 2.2.2 for the Mac as downloaded from the WSJT website.
The only unusual requirement is that the instructions for changing the memory size given in the software instructions will not work for M1 Macs. Instead you use the following commands in the terminal:
sudo sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmmax=104857600
sudo sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmall=25600
The command
sysctl -a | grep sysv.shm
will verify that the change is made. At the moment the above must be done on each reboot.
That's it, otherwise it works just as it does on an Intel Mac. I have my serial port set for 38,400 baud, 8,2,none and am running full CAT control with rig split enabled.
It appears as of today, January 7, that the Fldigi folks are still working on a version that will work on Apple Silicon. In my testing the latest standard Mac version would not load.
