The product has been officially announced:
http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=995 Pricing is not yet available. I understand that a cable set will be available separately. 73, Mitch DJ0QN ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Very interesting. Theoretically KX3 should be able to control the remote K3
provided it has the same set of commands. One thing is not clear from the below given URL. Is KPA500 going to be controlled over the same link? 73, Igor UA9CDC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mitch Wolfson DJØQN" <[hidden email]> To: "Elecraft" <[hidden email]> Sent: Wednesday, October 05, 2011 1:34 AM Subject: [Elecraft] RemoteRig Elecraft K3 Twin > The product has been officially announced: > http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=995 > > Pricing is not yet available. In the simple case, the KPA500 is fully automatic and will follow the
K3's frequency. Also, for those who want to control the KPA500 directly over the serial port with KPA Utility or other programs, the Remoterig boxes have additional serial ports that they provide for control of other devices like theKPA500, rotors etc. 73, Eric --- www.elecraft.com On 10/4/2011 1:48 PM, Igor Sokolov wrote: > Very interesting. This is great news and something we will continue to see more of as there is less and less ground to put up big stations. I might just have to get my Montana station back up to snuff so I can be in Colorado but get pileups for the rare MT mult. Heck maybe there is money to be made by renting out remote time............. If I was still in need of a remote setup I would be all over this
solution. I was hoping for something like this 10 years ago when I first started remoting with a Kachina 505dsp. Luckily, I have no need to remote any longer. We finally moved to our new home where there are no restrictions on antennas. My covenants actually say 'ham radio towers are ok'. I bought the lot as soon as I saw that statement. Don,
The cable kit includes a cable that goes between the K3 and RRC box to allow you to turn it on. Of course, you can make this cable up yourself if you want to. 73, Mitch DJ0QN ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Nelson" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Wednesday, October 05, 2011 12:41 AM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] RemoteRig Elecraft K3 Twin On 10/4/2011 1:34 PM, Mitch Wolfson DJØQN wrote: > The product has been officially announced: > http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=995 > > Pricing is not yet available.
