The Old KX1 Power output Problem AGAIN! Sorry

m0bmn
Hi All

Sorry , im sure this has been answered a few times

I have recently finished my KX1 and like many people had low power problems,
I did the R11 and R30 mods and now on 13.8v I get about 4 watts on 40m

But I still can only get around 2.7 watts on 20m.

If I run of the internal bats (nicads) I get about 1- 1.3 watts on 40m and
0.8- 1.10 watts on 20

At the lower voltage the difference between 40 and 20m seems right but a bit
excessive when on 13.8 v supply

I had a quick play with L2 and it didn’t really make much difference, should
I try compressing the turns on L2 to increase my 20m output or should I
expand them to increase 20m output?

Any ideas please

Cheers

Paul

I haven't done any resistor mods yet, but I spread the turns on L2
last week and managed to get my 20m output up about 0.5w according
to the ATU. They now cover more than 70% (in my estimation)...
