I have DVDs of almost all of the great 1950s SciFi movies. I think my
collection is about 20 DVDs. All the greats and some really stupid movies that they they too are classics such as "Teenagers from Outer Space" or "I Married a Monster From Outer Space". Is this an Off Topic Topic? 73, phil, K7PEH On Apr 30, 2014, at 8:33 PM, Dauer, Edward <[hidden email]> wrote: > > Them! is available (Them! are available?) for download for free at > https://archive.org/details/PhantasmagoriaTheater-Them1954176 > > A favorite from my youth as well. Well, it may be OT; but it’s fun for this person who was 9 years old in 1954, and his Mom took him to see his first sci-fi movie, which was "Them”! I still remember parts of the movie.

The first Sci Fy movie I remember seeing was "The Forbidden Planet" at the Studio Theater on First Street in San Jose, California -- it was probably 1956 and I was 9 years old. My oldest sister who was 15 years old at the time took me and my other sister who was 11.

An "off-topic" comment about "off-topic" comments..........
99% of the time, they're enjoyable. However, if there's still the related "off-topic" posts going on for weeks afterwards, they're down right obnoxious ! Personally, I erase most of the stuff I type when I wait a few minutes before actually sending it. After a while I realize I'm part of the problem and delete the comment. If I feel that it is just too good NOT to send (Hah) I'll send it directly to one person, not the whole group. 73, Charlie k3ICH ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Commo" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Thursday, May 01, 2014 12:16 AM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] "Them" Well, it may be OT; but it’s fun for this person who was 9 years old in 1954, and his Mom took him to see his first sci-fi movie, which was "Them”! I can still remember the skeleton staring out of the bus. I rented it recently from Netflix and it seems pretty tame now. 73, Bill W6WRT ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

My Parents would watch Outer Limits and I hide behind my mother a lot. It scared the heck out of me. Then when I was a teenager I
would watch the B movies on Friday and Saturday nights and Saturday afternoons. 73, Tim Herrick, KQ8M [hidden email] AR-Cluster V6 kq8m.no-ip.org User Ports: 23, 7373 with local skimmer, 7374 without local skimmer Server Ports: V6 3607, V4 Active 3605, V4 Passive 3606 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
