Those nasty little rosin spots

Clint Sprague
Finally stated building my CMOS4 keyer, and I was
going to ask
this group what they thought about cleaning rosin
off...but after
reading the archives I see this has been a hot topic
for discussion
previously.  Guess I'll have to decide for myself if
it is really worth it.. :)  I'm using the reccommeded
solder so I guess I'm all
set there.

Have fun!!

Clint,

I have rarely found a need to clean the rosin - it doesn't conduct and
causes no harm other than asthetics.
If you feel you need to do it, alcohol is relatively safe (use Isopropal in
the highest concentration you can get) - but keep it out of components like
unsealed inductors, relays and such - the alcohol WILL attract water vapor
from the air, so expect some condensation on the PC board and work in a
small area with a Q-tip or similar swab-type tool.
