Time Warp...

N4CW
I was just throwing out some old QST's and in the August 2006 issue, on
page 42, under "What's New at Dayton 2006?" by Joel Hallas is an announcement
that ...Elecraft..."offers solid-state linears at 800 and 1500W"  Plus,
there's a picture, "Elecraft's 1500 W solid-state amplifier."

It really looks neat!!! Wish I could have bought one back then...three
times the power of my KPA500!

Now that should open up some speculation :~)

Re: Time Warp...

Pete Smith N4ZR
That's the one I have referred to in the past.  At one time someone told
me he had one of them for field test, but I never heard anything
further.  I remember the guys in the booth saying that the amp could
change bands in something like 30 ms, which conjured thoughts of SO2R
with two radios and one amp.  It must have had problems, or perhaps they
just projected that there was a better market for a new transceiver first...
