I am a a rookie in the ham world so I feel a little funny posting this. I have built a KX3 and a K3. I bought something called AX7-C electrical contact anti-corrosion protectant & lubricant. The bottle has web site www.rc-electronics-usa.com. I found if I coated all of the pins and slide together connectors with the AX7-C they can be pushed together with very little force. I also felt it may protect the connectors from corrosion if I was operating in a salt environment like the beach. I think you will be amazed especially on those large multi-pin connectors how easily they will go together.
