I have been using the Split +1 and Split +2 macros from the K3 Utility Help file plus a Split +5 of my own based on the samples. After to toggle macro discussion began I put them into a toggle macro that uses the M4T (Tap) Key. They are listed below. Unfortunately, this toggle set does not reset the toggle pointer so the next time I used it the macro starts at the next Split in the progression. So if the last split I used was Split +2 when I pressed the M4 key it would go to a split +5 even though split had been turned off. I would prefer to start at the Spllit +1 each time so I know how many times to press the M4 key to get where I want to. To accomplish this I modified the CLEANUP macro in the Help File so it reads as below and assigned it to M4H (Hold). This also clears up anything I have done with the sub receiver while operating split. This takes 2 macro function keys rather than 4 and I don't have to remember where each one of the Split macros resides. Split and Cleanup are on the M4 key, and as long as I reset the Split function after each use it will start the next time at Split +1.
Macro 1 – Split +1 SWT13;SWT13;FT1;UPB4;RT0;XT0;MN110;SWT12;SWT39;SWT14;
Macro 2 - Split +2 SWT13;SWT13;FT1;UPB5;RT0;XT0;MN110;SWT13;SWT39;SWT14;
Macro 3 - Split +5 SWT13;SWT13;FT1;UPB7;RT0;XT0;MN110;SWT11;SWT39;SWT14;
Macro 4 - CleanUp FT0;RT0;XT0;LN0;SQ000;SWT13;SWT13;SWH58;NB0;NB$0;SB0;MN110;SWT11;SWT39;SWT14;
Incidentally, you can press the M4 key quickly three times to get from no split to Split +5. The rig will be at +5 while it takes the display a bit to catch up. I hope these make sense.
I have had the K3 for about a month and am really enjoying it very much. It took some time to get used to two tuning dials as I have had just one on my 756 Pro III (which now I will sell) for many years.
