Too Much Elecraft Email?

Marc Ziegler, W6ZZZ
You can change your settings so that you only get 1 Elecraft email digest per
day (with a table of contests and all the message text).

1, Go to
http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft

2. Go to the bottom of the web page
2a. Enter your email address
2b. Click on the "Unscribe or edit options" button.

3. At the top of the page
3a. Enter you list password
3b. Click the "Log in" button

4. Scroll to the middle of the membership subscription page
4a. Click the "On" radio button for "Set Digest Mode"

5. Scroll to the botom of the page
5a. Click on the "Submit My Changes" button

RE: Too Much Elecraft Email?

Folks,

I find the digest format cumbersome to deal with.  The posts for the day are
lined up one after another in one long email and I would have to scroll down
to find the one I want to look at.  Yes, the Table of contents makes it a
bit easier, but ...

I have an 'Elecraft' folder under my Inbox and I let my email client put all
the Elecraft mail into that folder by detecting the "[Elecraft]" in the
subject.  That way I can deal with non-elecraft things in my  inbox and when
I have time I review the posts in the Elecraft folder - if the post is not
of interest, a quick tap of the DELETE button deals with it and I am left
with only those of interest.

Of course everyone has their own ways of dealing with things like this, I
just wanted to share how I do it for those still searching for their own
methods.

Don W3FPR

Ditto.

The solution I settled on was Google Gmail. http://gmaill.google.com

Advantages/Cool features:

o message download is not required, read mail via your web browser
o lots of storage for messages, 2.7gb approx.
o presents author/subject and ~one line message summary
o messages can be deleted, archived...etc from main screen
o has spell-checking, important for us techie types :-)
o Can read/review email on web enabled cellphones
o filters just like other email clients
o fast easy search options to find old messages

Disadvantages

o Another email address & interface to master.
o Need invite code to sign up, can be done with cellphone or invite
sent by current user.

I gave Gmail a short trial several months ago. I liked it so much I
moved all my list subscriptions to it--worth trying IMHO.
