I recently purchased a Knipex "Coated Wire Stripping Tweezer" from
ChadsToolBox.com, P/N 15 11 120. I was originally concerned that the
available dies (0.5, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 mm2) would be too large. It comes
with a 0.6 mm die. Price $12.59.
The tool arrived recently; I took some smaller scrap wire from my previous
build of a KX 1 and tried the device. To my delight, it worked quite well
out of the box with the 0.6 mm blade. This will be my toroid stripping
device from now on. I was somewhat proficient with the "solder blob" method
but the results were not as aesthetically (and probably electrically)
pleasing as with this tool.
