Transverter use with KX3

Edward R Cole
I recently upgraded my 2m transverter to utilize a freq synth LO
(locked to ext ref.) and ran into an issue trying to use the KX3 as
IF at 28-MHz.  I have the transverter entries made on the KX3 menu
for 144 to translate to 28 MHz but no signal is heard when the KX3 is
connected and the 144 MHz channels selected from memory.

The receiver works fine if I dial in the frequency on 28-MHz but then
I do not have the 144_MHz display of frequency.  I wonder if
transverter function is not active yet in the firmware.

I programmed the KX3 memories using the Freq. Memory Editor sw.  All
other memory locations function on the KX3 so its strange that there
seems no RF connection when memories programmed for 144-MHz.  I have
not tested it on transmit as I have to order a new 13w RF power
module for the transverter (only have 12 dBm drive level at this point).

Re: Transverter use with KX3

Edward R Cole
I posted a question a few days ago and received no reply.

I will re-phrase:

I am trying to use my KX3 with a 144-28 MHz transverter but have no
reception when the KX3 is set up for transverter operation:
XV1 ON
XV1RF 144
XV1 IF 28
XV1 PWR H 0.1
XV1 OFS 0.00
XV1 ADR TRN1

If I operate the KX3 on 28 MHz I have good Rx from the transverter.

Is the transverter mode not implemented in sw ?

OK, I discover the answer on my own.  XV1 ON was actually still NO
and until I held the KHZ button for 3-seconds it was locked.  This
unlocked the feature and allowed me to select XV1 to ON.
