Thanks to all whom have gone the course with me, lots of e-mail swaps,
& I'm now trying to find time for antennas. With all the suggestions,
hints, kinks, & a lot of patience, elbow grease, thinking twice, I
nearly have the rig on the air, with the K2 "hearing" at least as well
as the Icom 756, sometimes better! The transmitter looks good into dummy
load. It's been a rugged time to battle Murphy, then figure out the
problems, but my only hard task left is to put up antennas which the
neighbors won't bark about.
For Gary - I got lost after awhile, wore you out, then Don picked up
my little cause, & I figured out where the problems were.... at least
for now. If 'n when anyone hears a signal from my little island, please
let me know I'm gettin' out!
I think I have some cabinet parts which I won't need, will list them
later, if anyone is interested in "rolling their own" with EC2 parts.
The fun part will be to find out if I get into the hi-fi and TV
systems here, then there are the "bar band" loudmouths across the street
whom I hope to ruin an amplified speaker for! Ha!
73's, Many thanks,
Gil WA5YKK
